SVEEP Campaign Chandigarh

Chief Electoral Officer, Chandigarh

SVEEP intended to build a truly participative democracy in the Lok Sabha Constituency by encouraging all eligible citizens to vote and make an informed decision during the elections. The programme was based on multiple general as well as targeted interventions which were designed according to the socio-economic, cultural and demographic profiles of the target area as well as the history of electoral participation in previous rounds of elections and learning thereof. It aimed to ensure that the voter turnout is reflective of Chandigarh's trademark vigor, and maximum people take part in celebrating Desh ka Maha Tyohar.

Our Approach

A comprehensive campaign was designed, incorporating a gamut of components such as events, branding on infrastructure special camps and dedicated public engagement activities to give fillip to the outreach activities planned by the Administration. Creativity was the pivot, around which the content and designs were commissioned. All activities on ground were broadcasted aggressively on social media. Special special media tools like memes and social media competitions were employed to attract organic attention and participation. In the campaign, we focused on achieving the aim of building a stronger democracy through greater synergy with Civil Society, Organisations, Media and Corporate Houses and even greater queries, suggestions, and participation from individuals.
